Kelsan® KELTRACK® Liquid Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Portec Rail Protector® IV Trackside Top-Of-Rail Application System

Description: Water based liquid friction modifier applied using a Portec Rail Products Protector IV® Top-Of-Rail application system. When applied, KELTRACK® leaves a dry Thin Film on the Top-Of-Rail. The Thin Film is transferred to Transit vehicles from the Top-Of-Rail and provides friction control between the wheel/rail interface. KELTRACK® Trackside Transit is intended for use in targeted curve locations in transit systems.
Benefits: Reduces wheel squeal noise by up to 25db (Decibels), increase Rail life, and reduce lateral forces.

Kelsan® KELTRACK® Liquid Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Portec Rail Protector® IV Trackside Top-Of-Rail Application System

Description: Water based liquid friction modifier applied using a Portec Rail Products Protector IV® Top-Of Rail application system. When applied, KELTRACK® leaves a dry Thin Film on the TopOf-Rail. The Thin Film is transferred to locomotives when they pass over the treated rail. KELTRACK® provides friction control at the wheel/rail interface. KELTRACK® Trackside Freight is intended for use in targeted curve locations in freight systems.
Benefits: Defers costly rail replacement by extending rail life, reduces lateral forces, and reduce wheel squeal noise.

OnBoard Transit Top-Of-Rail Friction Control System

Kelsan® HPF (High Positive Friction) Solid Stick Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Description:
Solid stick friction modifier applied directly to the wheel tread of the transit vehicle. The HPF material transfers to the tread, and thence the top of the rail. A Thin Film is left behind on the top of rail that provides a consistent friction level of 0.35 on the wheel/rail interface throughout the transit system. HPF OnBoard Sticks Transit are applied using a spring loaded bracket/applicator assembly that is custom built for each customer. The bracket/applicator assembly is attached to the frame of the transit vehicle.
Benefits: Reduces wheel squeal noise, short pitch corrugations, and lateral forces.

Kelsan® KELTRACK® Liquid Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Lubriquip TrackMaster LLIC ™ Locomotive Mounted Top-Of-Rail Application System

Description: KELTRACK® On-Board Locomotive is a water based liquid friction modifier designed for application from a freight locomotive through a Lubriquip Inc Trackmaster LLIC™ On-Board Top-Of-Rail control system. When applied after the last tractive wheels, the KELTRACK® is delivered as an atomized spray that dries rapidly after the passage of a few wheels.
Benefits: Large reduction in lateral forces (typically 50%) and reduction in energy and fuel consumption.

Kelsan® KELTRACK® Liquid Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Kelsan® AutoPilot™ Car Based Top-Of-Rail Application System

Description: Kelsan® AutoPilot™ is a Top-Of-Rail friction control system that typically installs onboard a freight car. This friction control system is designed to spray Kelsan® KELTRACK® on the top of rail throughout your entire rail system. KELTRACK® optimizes the coefficient of friction on the wheel/rail interface and provides numerous benefits including fuel savings, increased rail life, increased track component life, reduced lateral forces, and reduced risk of derailments. Kelsan® AutoPilot™ is designed to be quick and easy to install and maintain.
Benefits: Fuel and GHG Savings, extend rail life & track structure life, reduce lateral forces and risk of derailments.

Kelsan® KELTRACK® Liquid Top-Of-Rail Friction Modifier

Portec Rail Road-Runner® 361 Hi-Rail™ Top-Of-Rail Application System

Description: Water based liquid friction modifier designed for application from a delivery system mounted on a HiRail truck or ROAD-RUNNER® Hi-Rail™ TOR Application System, developed by Portec Rail Products in collaboration with Kelsan Technologies. The application system sprays KELTRACK® HiRail evenly to the Top-Of-Rail as it drives along the track. KELTRACK® leaves a dry Thin Film on the Top-Of-Rail which is transferred to the wheel tread of the locomotives that pass over the treated rail. This provides friction control in the wheel/rail interface.
Benefits: Reduce lateral forces by up to 50%, rail head loss by up to 50%, and wheel squeal noise.
